Stephen Malik
Chief Executive Officer

Since founding Medfusion in 1996, Stephen has taken the company from a medical website development company to the leading provider of enhanced healthcare communication solutions. His vision has directed Medfusion's robust portfolio of solutions to enable healthcare providers to offer superior service to their patients while improving office efficiency and generating revenue.

Stephen has guided Medfusion to be a competitive leader in the healthcare technology market by instilling the highest levels of customer satisfaction through pioneering healthcare product development and dedicated professional sales and implementation teams. With over twenty years of expertise selling and implementing technology for healthcare providers, Stephen brings a remarkable skill set of sales, product knowledge, technical ability and ownership/management experience. Prior to Medfusion, Stephen was the National Manager for Clinical Systems for publicly-traded CUSA Technologies who had acquired his firm. Stephen has also owned several practice management systems vendors and directed a variety of healthcare-focused information technology initiatives.

Stephen continues to generate awareness of technology in healthcare by speaking regularly at national conferences, being on the Faculty for the Medical Record Institute and American Academy of Family Physicians and has been published in various healthcare publications such as: Medical Economics, Technology in Practice, Health Data Management, MGMA Connexion, and MD News.

Stephen earned a BS in Business Administration with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Richard Pedersen
Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Development

Richard drives Medfusion's global sales initiatives. He brings over twenty-five years of sales leadership experience in healthcare technology, building an experienced, confident, and successful sales team that covers the nation from strategic locations. Richard has developed profitable sales strategies by partnering with dozens of marketing agents, consultants, and VARs throughout the country. Richard draws on a lot of his knowledge from his previous experience managing and owning successful VARs focused on practice management and electronic medical records.

Richard earned his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in aeronautical engineering.

Dan Edelson
Chief Financial Officer

Dan is responsible for leading Medfusion in the areas of business strategy, operational finance, and human resources. Dan brings nearly seventeen years expertise in a variety of financial roles at IBM, five years as partner of an early-stage venture capital firm, and several years assisting start-up companies as an independent consultant. Dan is also a former board member and Treasurer of the Mariposa School for Children with Autism and former board member of BayMountain Inc., and FullSeven Technologies, Inc.

Dan holds an M.B.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University and a B.S. in accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

Jeff Keating
Chief Technical Officer

Jeff heads our software development, partner integration, and general technology efforts. These teams design, develop, and support the full suite of Medfusion applications, consistently achieving innovative, reliable, and highly-available solutions.

Jeff recently served as Director of Product Development at Thomson Healthcare. Prior to this he served as Vice President of Product Development for MercuryMD. He has a diverse background including academic medical experience. It was on clinical rotations as a student at UCSD School of Medicine where he was exposed firsthand to the technical challenges of clinical systems. This ultimately paved the way for pursuing significant opportunities in healthcare software development.

Jeff holds a B.S. in Mathematics from UCLA.

Janis Newcomb, MPA
Implementation and Support Manager

Janis leads the daily operations of Medfusion's implementation, support and design teams. She supports her team with over ten years of healthcare practice management experience, having specialty- specific experience in Cardiology, Urology, Ear, Nose & Throat, and Plastic Surgery as well as hands-on expertise in implementing online solutions. Medfusion's Implementation, Support & Design Teams continue to grow to support the increased demand for our services, and offer implementation and support resources by knowledgeable project managers and product specialists.

Janis earned an M.H.A from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a B.A. in Psychology from Northeastern University.

Kimberly Labow
Vice President, Marketing and Product Management

Kim is responsible for all aspects of both marketing and product management. Her team is engaged not only with direct marketing activities for Medfusion, but in the overall efforts to aid Medfusion's clients in the marketing of their practices to drive ultimate utilization of their Medfusion healthcare solutions from new and existing patients. Kim has over 17 years of technology marketing experience in a variety of industries, including healthcare. Her healthcare experience includes managing marketing and product management efforts for Versyss, Physician Computer Network, and Kronos Incorporated.

Kim has a B.A from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and an M.B.A from Northeastern University in Boston.
